Well, Luke finally arrived at 10:29 am on Tuesday December 6. We were very excited to see him. Unfortunately, Christy had a fever and a touch of a bug that was passed on to Luke when he was born. That, along with taking in A LOT of fluid on his way out caused him to have to spend a day and a half in the special care nursery with some fluid in his lungs, a temperature of 101, breathing too fast, and low oxygen saturation. Posted by Picasa

John and Christy,

Wow! Congratulations on the birth of Luke. We are so happy for you both. I'm sorry that you had such a difficult start, but I'm glad that Luke is doing better. That must have been so hard!

Your little family is in our prayers as we well remember how difficult those first few weeks are. It get's easier - I promise - and you will both just love being parents! It's amazing how much God reveals to you about His love for YOU (His child) as you raise your own little one.

These are truly special times - treasure each moment! (They grow up way too fast)

Luke is truly blessed with you as his parents. We hope to see you and meet Luke soon! Congratulations again!
