I Feel Good
Near the end of January Luke had strep throat so these pictures were taken the day he started his antibiotic. He was feeling much better that day. He had to wear a bib because he was drooling so much. We had no idea what was wrong with him for about 36 hours. We thought he had a stomach bug because he started out with a high fever and threw up one time. We were treating him for that, but knew it had to be something more when we could barely get him to drink at all, much less eat. If only we had looked at his throat...when you click on the last picture in this set, you can probably see the white spots on his throat. Poor baby....he was hurting pretty bad. We're still learning as parents so that's one to remember for the next time he's feeling bad.

Out on the Farm
In January we all spent the night with Grammy and Pappy one night. Here are some pictures from our visit. In the outdoor shots, Luke is checking out the dogs. He isn't quite comfortable with them yet so that explains the look of uncertainty on his face. I think he would rather watch them through a window.

Dress-Up
All in a Day's Work
I just never know what Luke will decide to try out on a given day. Here are some recent experiments.
One morning I found him watching TV with this ring around his ankle. I guess he thought it make a nice anklet.

He recently found my apron drawer in the kitchen and wanted to model for us. The wooden spoon makes for a nice apron accessory.

Dinner Entertainment
John keeps Luke entertained basically as soon as he steps foot in the door from work so that I can finish up dinner. Here they are watching from the hallway, while Mommy makes dinner.
John is anxiously awaiting for me to finish up. Daddy, what's wrong with you???

On this evening Luke was running back and forth with books for John to read to him. He would bring a book and then stand with his hand on John's shoulder while John read.

The Main Family Christmas
My (Christy) Mom's maiden name is Main. Celebrating Christmas with her family is a huge ordeal as you'll see below. The family is so big that we have to have Christmas at a church fellowship hall because no one has a house big enough to host everyone. I know John's Aunt Nancy will be able to relate to these pictures!! Lots of people to keep up with.
(I borrowed these from your blog Jennifer....thanks!)

This is the first Christmas that I can remember when all of Mom's siblings could make it in to celebrate.
More Christmas Pics

While John and I were out of town after Christmas my parents watched Luke at our house for a couple of days. This is how my mom found Luke one morning while he was playing. He managed to open the dishwasher door and climb on in by himself. Since then we have put up a gate to keep him out of the kitchen.

One More Vandiver Family
This is my extended family. From left to right, my aunt Rosalynn, my Mem-Maw (now we call "Great"), my dad, and my aunt Tina (Ros and Tina are Dad's sisters....I guess you could figure that one out:)

Handsome Little Boys
This is Cole and Hunter. Many of you may remember Hunter as the ring bearer in our wedding 3+ years ago. Cole was also in the wedding. You just couldn't see him because he was still growing inside Jennifer's tummy.
