Oooops

We still put Luke down for naps awake, and at times he fusses a bit before he goes to sleep. I just assume he's crying because he wants me to hold him, but it looks like I was wrong this time. I do go check on him periodically while he fusses and then again when he quiets down. This is how I found him on Monday.

A Luke Update

We've been informed that we're slacking off on the blog.....so this is all we've got for now. Luke is walking now. He began walking on his 11 month birthday, 11/06, and has been going since then. While we don't have pictures of this moment, we do have extensive video. We'll attempt to put that on here, but we're not sure if we can. We haven't taken many pictures this month because walking just looks so much better on video than a still shot, and Luke was very sick this month. We didn't want to bother our sick baby with the camera flash. So there you go. We'll try to take more pics during the next few weeks.
He was walking but decided to hold on when I snapped this shot.

Check out that physique.

This UK hat unfortunately won't work for the winter. It's toddler sized, but Luke's head is not. He has a very big head. It was a stretch to get it on for a picture. This one is fuzzy because it was taken in front of the mirror. The fuzziness is Luke's smudges on his bedroom mirror. No, I do not let him play with medicine. He just grabbed it while I was taking the picture.

Holiday Crafts

One thing I love about not teaching anymore is having the time to make things. I've always loved doing crafty activities (with the exception of painting/drawing), but while I was teaching I NEVER had time to do this. Especially not during the Christmas season, when I had to put on a music program with my students. I love staying at home with Luke...this is the best job I've ever had!!!
This is a kissing ball I made for Leigh Ann....a thank you for giving so much time to watch Luke so John and I can have a date now and then.

This is my mom's birthday present. My sister-in-law, Jennifer and I put this one together.

This is my wreath that I'll probably be hanging on my front door this week.

Here is another kissing ball that I made for Cheryl, John's Mom,.......another thank you gift for giving up her time as well to watch Luke and keeping him overnight a couple of times so John and I could have a night to ourselves.

Our Transformed Yard

Silly me....I didn't get out in time to get a before shot, but here is the after. Believe it or not it does look better. We still want to put in more plants/bushes, but that will have to wait for now.

Before and After

There are 2 bushes grown together here...blocking part of our garage door.
Naked bush
John cut it way back....We're curious to see what it does this spring.

Work Day

John and his dad worked on our landscaping a couple of Saturdays ago and transformed the look of our house. They removed, transferred, and trimmed bushes for much of the day. Our house looks much better from the street now. Here's Larry and Gehl. I think John and his dad could've made some money this day if they had some extra time. We got some strange looks from neighbors and other who offered to hire them to work in their yards.
Big Bad John
This was probably the largest project. We had a huge overgrown bush (eyesore) in the front yard by the street that they took out.
That is John's dad, Larry, waving in this one.

Piano Lesson

Luke loves to play on Mama's piano. Here I am holding him back. He prefers to play alone. Posted by Picasa

Uncle Woody

This was taken by Aunt Leigh Ann when she and Woody came over to watch Luke one night. Uncle Woody has fallen victim to our little beggar.

I'm CUTE!!!

After we dressed Luke in his costume, he had to go check himself out in the mirror.

As you can see, he was pretty impressed with himself.

Maybe this isn't so bad afterall.

I think I'm the cutest thing I've ever seen!!

My Personal Parade

Everybody wanted to see me dressed up for Halloween. I visited my Dada at work, Great (my great Grandma), Aunt Leigh Ann at the hospital, Grammy at work, and Grandma and Grandpa tick tock (Great Grandparents).

Here we are with a cold and sleepy Luke at our church's harvest festival. He went Trunk-or-Treating while we were there.

Checking Out The Loot

My precious.....we wants my precious to be all mine.

One for Dada....One for Mama.....Two for me.

Hmmm.....I wonder what I'm supposed to do with this????

Luke came very close to tasting his first Snickers bar. He almost had the wrapper open.

Luke found all sorts of things in his stash.

Even a couple of choking hazards....YIKES! We threw those away.

After watching Mama a few times he figured out that the treasure was actually what was inside. "If I could just get this thing off, I think there's something in there that I would want."

Mmmmm............CANDY!!!! Posted by Picasa
