Update

Sorry no pictures this time...scroll down to see some VERY cute pictures of our growing son.

I was reading back through some of the first posts we made to our blog during Christy's early pregnancy and it struck me how the Lord has answered all of our concerns that we faced then. Let me explain, our primary concern was for the Lord to provide a job that would allow a little more financial room. He has done that but more on that in a second. What I didn't know (but the Lord did) at the time I wrote that was how long Christy would continue to receive a paycheck once she stopped working. Her last day at work was Nov. 22 I believe (may have been the 23) and we still are receiving paychecks from her job. However, that will stop very soon. Nevertheless, that has allowed us to pay off all our debt and store a fully funded emergency fund. Additionally, the bills from Lukes birth have been much lower than anticipated plus we received a sizable unexpected tax return that will more than cover his expenses.

The Lord REALLY does meet all of our needs.

Now about my job. After MANY delays and multiple interviews I was offered the position of Vice President of New and Existing Industry with the Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation which I accepted. It was a tremendous honor to even be selected for an interview much less be offered the position. This new opportunity will be a huge challenge but I am confident that the Lord will work through me and give me favor with the area businesses so that we can be successful.

Next, we were concerned about our living arrangements. If you have followed these posts you will know that in August the Lord opened the door for us to move into the downstairs apartment which has been a tremendous blessing. We have quickly realized that this will have to change again before Luke gets mobile. The apartment simply is not conducive to an active toddler. The Lord has opened a possibility here as well. Last Friday, Christy and I made an offer on a house here in Owensboro that, after a little work, could meet our needs for many years. Stay tuned for how that develops.

Another concern was for Christy's pursuit of her Masters. Christy stopped taking classes after she finished her required hours to keep her certification. Our thought was that this at least gave us the option for her to go back to teaching in a few years. However, through her time at home, the Lord has confirmed that going back to teaching is not in His plan for her...at least in the foreseeable future. Christy is looking into some opportunities to earn income...more for the adult interaction than anything I think. One good possibility is the use of her wonderful singing talent. If you have not heard her sing that you have missed out on a tremendous blessing. She really is very talented and has such a great heart that really comes out through her music. We are looking at the possibility of her doing some weddings as they come up and as we have time. The great thing about this is that we can choose which events we want to do depending on our schedule. Christy is also involved in MOPS at our church and a women's bunco group so she does get out some adult interaction. It is very important to me that she does get out and interacts with people.

Well, I think that's about all for now. I apologize for not posting any pictures but we will again soon I promise.

A beautiful baby with a beautiful smile. We had Luke's 3 month pictures done Friday night, and they all turned out really well. This is just one example. We think he's just oh so cute, but we're just a tad biased. Posted by Picasa

Enjoying my Jumperoo with Daddy.  Posted by Picasa

Luke's Learning Gym has a sit-up method that we started using with him yesterday. Looks like he finds it to be a great chew toy! Posted by Picasa

Mommy had noticed that Luke seemed to be getting pretty bored with his floor toys so we decided it was time to pull out his Jumperoo. WOW!!! What a difference it made. Luke loves being able to sit up and play. He is enjoying this new toy although he has not figured out the bouncing part yet. Posted by Picasa

Luke is learning how to play with some of his toys now. Here he is with Mr. Crab. This is one of his current favorites. He loves to chew on the finger-sized legs. Posted by Picasa

What you talkin' about Willis? Posted by Picasa

Luke and Mommy watched American Idol one night trying to elongate his wake time before eating and going to bed. He enjoyed the show. Posted by Picasa

YIKES....we ran out of bibs at Grammy & Pappy's house so Luke was sporting a pink bib for a brief period. Dad wasn't too crazy about that idea. Posted by Picasa

Waking from a nap......hmmm....I wonder what woke him up here. Posted by Picasa

Another sleepy moment. Luke also fell asleep one morning on the floor under his gym while Momma was getting ready to go to MOPS. He didn't even make a peep this time. Just went from playing to sleeping. Posted by Picasa

Aaah....sleep. This is the first time Luke had fallen asleep in his Ocean Wonders bouncing chair. He just couldn't wait for Momma to put him in bed for a nap so he went right to sleep in his seat. Posted by Picasa

"The wheels on the bus go round and round...." Luke and Momma enjoy singing together.  Posted by Picasa

Precious!!! Taking a Sunday afternoon nap. Sundays are often exhausting on all of us, especially when Mommy sings in all 3 church services. Posted by Picasa

Luke still likes to swing occasionally. He is getting so big. Posted by Picasa

This is after our walk. Luke is rarely awake when we return from these walks. Posted by Picasa

It's finally getting warm enough for Luke and Mommy to go out for walks. We love our walks. It gives Mommy exercise and Luke a chance to see the world around him. Check out the cute hat. Posted by Picasa

We never know what position Luke will be in when sleeping in his crib. He moves around quite a bit and often ends up with a limb or two sticking out between the rails.  Posted by Picasa

Luke & Grammy....who spent alot of time together this past weekend so Mommy & Daddy could go out on a couple of dates. Posted by Picasa

Already in training for the 2023 basketball season. Posted by Picasa

This is Luke's Big Pappy. Someday he'll be just as big!!! Posted by Picasa

I do believe Luke is looking more like his Daddy everyday. Posted by Picasa

Luke enjoyed checking himself out in the mirror yesterday. He stared at himself for quite a long time. Posted by Picasa

Luke is really improving on his tummy time. He turns over from tummy to back and is getting close to turnning from back to tummy.  Posted by Picasa
